About Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness
Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness is a full-length documentary examining the realities of homelessness in America and, critically, the solutions that are already working.
The film premiered on April 10 at the Housing First Partners Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, before an audience of more than 500 housing leaders, policymakers, advocates, and practitioners from across the country. The project was funded by the Cooper Housing Institute to elevate public understanding of homelessness disparities and to catalyze action around proven, scalable solutions.
Cooper Housing Institute Founder Will Cooper, Jr. joined the premiere and participated in a post-screening discussion with attendees.
“The turnout was tremendous,” Will Cooper, Jr. said.
“People filled the room with energy, urgency, and determination to solve this national challenge. You could feel the collective commitment to moving from awareness to action.”
Producer and Director Don Sawyer echoed that sentiment:
“We could not have asked for a stronger launch. CHI was the first organization to fund this film, and that early leadership inspired others to step forward.”
Join The Beyond The Bridge Impact Campaign
Beyond the Bridge is in the middle of a national screening campaign, with events in 40 cities nationwide. Each screening is designed to convene local leaders, housing providers, elected officials, philanthropic partners, and community stakeholders to spark dialogue and advance solutions.
We invite mayors, housing authorities, nonprofits, foundations, and civic leaders to be part of this effort.
