Cooper Housing Institute Funded Film Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness Premieres

Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness, a full-length documentary film on homelessness, premiered on April 10 at the Housing First Partners Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The film was funded by the Cooper Housing Institute to raise public awareness of homelessness disparity issues and possible solutions.

Cooper Housing Institute Founder Will Cooper, Jr., was present and fielded questions during the premiere. “The turnout was tremendous. So many people flooded the room with support and determination to solve this national problem. You could feel the energy surround you,” remarked Cooper.

Producer/Director Don Sawyer shared Cooper’s enthusiasm. “We couldn’t have had a better launch of the film – more than 500 people and the room was electric. CHI was the first to fund our film and it encouraged others to step up as well. Will Jr. flying out to the premiere made it even more special. We look forward to this film making a difference across the country. Thank you, CHI, for the support you have given us.”
